Ashley Wilson Fellers
Ashley Wilson Fellers is a sucker for a good redemption story. A self-taught painter, she layers quiet, restful cloudscapes onto canvases that were discarded or damaged in a previous life. Her work builds beauty from cast-off and reclaimed materials: scrap paper and ex-libris books, bits of vintage fabric and antique lace – often with gentle prayers, psalms and encouragements hidden in the underlayers of the paint. Whether Ashley is writing, painting, snapping photos, rescuing battered furniture from the side of the road, or just plain sharing conversation, she aims to tell a story: that broken things can be beautiful, rejected things can have immense value, and lost things can find Home (I Cor. 1:27-29). She has a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Virginia Tech, and currently lives in Roanoke, Virginia.
